Promine was proud to sponsor the 2019 Canadian Mining Games once again. Many thanks to the University of Alberta for hosting the event. In the Promine Challenge, students were asked to create a short mine and blast design with a given block model. The students were able to showcase their mining knowledge and application skills and their proficiency in Promine/AutoCAD software tools.
The winners for this year's edition of the Challenge were Isaac Kim and Mark Jarvos from the University of Alberta. As a prize, they received a one year Promine license. Congratulations to the winners!
Promine will be attending the American Exploration & Mining Association's 124th Annual Meeting held in Spokane Washington from December 2nd to 7th, 2018. This annual meeting is the second largest and longest running annual mining convention in the USA. Come and visit us in booth # 638.
Promine attended the 2018 edition of Quebec Mines & Energy that took place in Quebec City. The event provided a great forum for more than 2,000 professionals from across Canada to share innovative ideas, best practices and cutting-edge research in more than 100 workshops, training sessions and conferences along with an expansive marketplace of more than 200 exhibiting companies.
On May 23rd, Promine had the pleasure to spend a day with some long time customers from the Val d'Or region. Our presenters, Yvan Dionne President & Founder of Promine and M. Olivier Higaniro, Mining Engineer & Promine Specialist, discussed several new improvements and changes at Promine.
Promine will be attending the 13th International Gold & Silver Symposium held in Lima on May 29 - 31, 2018. We will be in booth # 52. This event is organized by the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy of Peru and its main objective is to promote awareness in the potential of natural resources, particularly gold and silver resources, as well as promote new investment and business opportunities in the region. Also the event will be a superb occasion to gather information about new projects, particularly in the region, markets and price outlook and an overall vision of their influence on the world’s economy.
The CIM 2018 Convention took place between the 6th and 9th of May in Vancouver. The event had 3 full days of technical presentations divided in 12 different and innovative themes ranging from finance and management in the mining industry to diversity and inclusion. It was a great networking opportunity, and a chance to participate in a world-renowned trade show. This year's convention was focused on thinking differently about industry challenges, best practices and innovative insights.
In late March, Promine had the pleasure of giving a workshop focused on Geological Modeling within the Instituto de Ingenieros de Minas del Perú - IIMP. We had the chance to meet one of the founding members as well as members of the executive committee of the Institution. Along with our partners Alikante, we would like to extend our thanks to the IIMP for helping us host our event. We would also like to thank all the participants who joined us for the workshop.
Promine attended the 2018 SME Annual Conference & Expo that took place in Minneapolis which provided a great forum for more than 6,000 industry professionals from across the world to share innovative ideas, best practices and cutting-edge research in more than 120 technical sessions along with an expansive marketplace of more than 550 exhibiting companies.
Promine was proud to sponsor the 2018 Canadian Mining Games once again. This year, students were asked to complete a three-part challenge including stope design, mine planning, and drill & blast design with Promine within a 3 hour timeframe. The challenge was designed to allow students to demonstrate their mining engineering knowledge as well as demonstrate their proficiency in Promine/AutoCAD software tools.
