Promine AutoCAD Tip of the Week: Gizmo Tool

Posted by Luis Montiel Petro on Mar 11, 2019 3:22:06 PM

This week’s Promine’s AutoCAD tip of the week covers a useful tool to manipulate 3D drift meshes in underground workings using the gizmo tool. To use the gizmo tool, select the Mesh tab in the 3D Modeling workspace. In the Selection panel,  the user can define if they want to move, rotate or scale a mesh object. In the filter drop list, the user can define whether they want to modify a vertex, an edge or a face itself.

Video Tutorial

Step By Step

1.Click on the Mesh tab of the 3D Modeling workspace

2.In the gizmo drop list, select Move Gizmo to move some elements of a drift face

3.In the filter drop list select Edge to start moving a 3D drift face’s edge

4.Click on the Edge you want to move and move it to connect with the edge of the adjacent drift mesh

6.Click on Vertex to start moving the vertices of the mesh to connect with the adjacent drift mesh

7.Continue until both drift meshes are properly connected
