Promine AutoCAD Tip of the Week: DONUT COMMAND

This tutorial explains how to use the AutoCAD DONUT command to create donut-shaped figures that consist of disks that have had another disk removed from the center. This can be used in conjunction with the EXTRUDE command to create cylindrical objects with hollow centers.

Video Tutorial

Step By Step

1.Select the AutoCAD workspace then type “DONUT” and press ‘Enter’ to initiate the command.

2.Type in the desired inner diameter of the donut form to be generated using the drawing unit system then press ‘Enter’.

3.Type in the desired outer diameter of the donut form to be generated using the drawing unit system then press ‘Enter’.

4.Click the location on the drawing where the center of the donut-shaped figure will be inserted to insert the object.

5.Repeat step four until all desired donut-shaped figures are inserted into the drawing.

6.Press ‘Esc’ when you are done inserting donut-shaped figures and wish to terminate the command.
